Vaccinations
Protecting your puppy with essential immunizations for a healthy, happy life
Why Vaccinations Matter
Vaccinations are your puppy's first line of defense against serious and potentially life-threatening diseases. We ensure every Bull Terrier puppy receives their initial vaccinations before going to their forever home. Bull Terriers are strong, active dogs with curious personalities—proper vaccination protects them as they explore the world and interact with other animals.
Core Vaccinations
These essential vaccinations are recommended for all Bull Terrier puppies, regardless of lifestyle.
Canine Distemper (CDV)
Protects against a highly contagious viral disease that can be fatal. Distemper affects multiple body systems including respiratory, gastrointestinal, and nervous systems. Bull Terriers, with their active nature, benefit greatly from this protection.
Canine Parvovirus (CPV)
Guards against a severe, often fatal viral disease affecting the intestines. Puppies are particularly vulnerable, making this vaccine critical for your Bull Terrier's health during their first year.
Canine Adenovirus (CAV-2)
Provides protection against infectious canine hepatitis and respiratory diseases. Part of the combination DHPP vaccine that your Bull Terrier will receive during their puppy series.
Rabies
Required by law—protects against a fatal disease affecting the nervous system that can be transmitted to humans. Typically administered to Bull Terrier puppies at 12-16 weeks of age.
Recommended Vaccination Schedule
Follow this timeline to ensure your Bull Terrier puppy stays fully protected
First Round
- First DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvovirus, Parainfluenza)
- Bordetella (if needed based on lifestyle)
Second Round
- Second DHPP booster
- Leptospirosis (if recommended for your area)
Third Round
- Third DHPP booster
- Rabies vaccination (required by law)
- Bordetella (if not given earlier)
Ongoing Protection
- Annual or triennial boosters depending on vaccine type
- Your vet will create a personalized schedule
Non-Core Vaccinations
These additional vaccines may be recommended based on your Bull Terrier's lifestyle and location
Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
Protects against contagious respiratory illness. Important if your Bull Terrier will attend daycare, boarding, or dog parks where they interact with other dogs.
Canine Influenza
Guards against certain flu strains. Recommended for social Bull Terriers who frequently interact with other dogs at parks, shows, or training classes.
Leptospirosis
Protects against bacterial infection transmitted through water or soil. Recommended based on local prevalence, especially if your Bull Terrier enjoys outdoor adventures.
Lyme Disease
Guards against tick-borne illness. Beneficial if you live in or visit areas where Lyme disease is common, particularly important for active Bull Terriers.
What Your Bull Terrier Puppy Receives
Every Bull Terrier puppy comes with their first set of vaccinations and deworming treatments already completed. We provide you with complete vaccination records, deworming at 2, 4, and 6 weeks of age, a recommended schedule for continuing vaccinations, and guidance on local vaccine requirements specific to your area.
Consult Your Veterinarian
Always consult your veterinarian for a personalized vaccination schedule based on your Bull Terrier puppy's specific health needs, lifestyle, and local regulations. Bull Terriers may have breed-specific considerations that your vet can address.
